How does caramel pumpkin pie sound?? This Salted Caramel Pumpkin Sauce is a Fall flavor probably you haven’t made that gives all the yum. The buttery, browned sugar taste of salted caramel and intense pumpkin flavor in a soft, rich sauce the reminds me of a candy pumpkin pie. Try not to eat it all with a spoon! To make a latte, I add 1 tablespoon to the bottom of the cup and steam another tablespoon in the milk before pouring it over the top. Then, sprinkle with a bit of spice.

Salted Caramel Pumpkin Sauce
1 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup pumpkin puree ( I prefer Libby’s brand )
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cook sugar in a saucepan until it caramelizes. I shake the pan occasionally over medium heat until sugar melts. Let liquid sugar become a dark amber color and immediately take off the heat. Add butter and stir in. Add salt and cream. Put back on heat to dissolve caramel into cream. Stir continuously and cook until the sauce is a smooth consistency. Stir in pumpkin and vanilla and cook for a few minutes longer. Remove from heat and store in a jar for up to 10 days in the fridge. Use sauce to make a fabulous Salted Caramel Pumpkin Latte or as a Fall flavored ice cream topper.
