I was craving something I haven’t tasted in YEARS… but this wasn’t it! I tested the viral Cinnamon Toast Crunch dupe recipe by Nara Smith with some gluten-free swaps—and let’s just say, it didn’t hit the spot.
To be fair, I used gluten-free multigrain flour instead of wheat, swapped oil for vegan butter for more flavor, and even added whey protein isolate in the second batch for better texture. But no matter what I did, it just wasn’t worth the effort.
Here’s why this recipe was a letdown:❌ The flavor? More like a crispy multigrain pie crust than real Cinnamon Toast Crunch.❌ Rolling out the dough was a pain, and baking took nearly an hour!❌ It barely made enough cereal to be worth it. Even if it tasted good, the yield was disappointing.
