Eat them yourself or surprise your favorite person with this phenomenal candy. They’re easier than you expect and more delicious than you can imagine. Most of the work is melting and mixing. Roll them in cocoa powder instead of dipping in chocolate for a candy simple enough for everyone to make.

Dark Chocolate Toffee Truffles
2/3 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons salted butter
2 tablespoons salted caramel syrup or sauce*
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup crushed toffee bar plus more to garnish
Coating
1 1/2 cups melted dark chocolate

Heat the cream until hot but not boiling. Add the chocolate chips. butter, caramel sauce and vanilla extract. Cover and let sit for about 5 minutes or until all the chocolate has melted. Stir until smooth. Stir in crushed toffee. Let cool in the fridge until firm but not hard ~ 2 hours. Scoop into 1” balls and dip in melted chocolate** to coat the truffles. Sprinkle with crushed toffee, bits of gold leaf or your favorite garnish. Let harden. Store in the fridge until ready to eat for up to 1 week.
*Trader Joes has a great salted caramel sauce to use or you can make your own.
