Naturally Gluten Free Cranberry Pear Sauce with Fresh Ginger

Hi Bakers,
Delicious cranberry sauce is easy, but most people don't bother making it taste great. Instead of cooking the berries with just sugar and water, try this Cranberry Pear Sauce with Fresh Ginger instead! Soft, sweet pear mellows tart cranberries, and a few slices of fresh ginger bring some welcome spice. It's my favorite variation of a Thanksgiving classic which can be downright boring. This simple recipe comes together in about 15 minutes and is well worth adding to your menu. I hope you try it and jazz up your holiday table with something new ~Carolyn
Cranberry Pear Sauce with Fresh Ginger
18-ounce bag of cranberries
1/2 cup light brown sugar or more to taste
1/2 cup water
3 fresh ginger slices, 1/4 thick
2 firm pears, 1/4” dice
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium-low heat until thickened. Stir while cooking and if the sauce gets too thick don’t be afraid to add more water. Remove from heat and discard ginger slices. Cool completely. Garnish with candied ginger. Enjoy!
