Lavender Flower and Vanilla Latte with Lavender Foam

Lavender Flower and Vanilla Latte with Lavender Foam

Hi Bakers, I loved the lavender simple syrup so much I made another batch and a second version of my favorite latte. This time I got the syrup color right too. Instead of teal blue, it's kind of purple Yay! I needed to add some red color (duh) not blue. This latest drink is great hot or iced. I love the lavender-flavored foam on top with the floral flavor and light lavender color. It's just the best thing ever and feels like such a treat. For a garnish on top, use a few fresh flowers or make a swirl with the syrup. Using dried lavender looks cool but, has a very strong flavor and it's hard not to bite into them while drinking the latte. Get the syrup recipe on my blog.

Iced Lavender Flower and Vanilla Latte (no foamer needed)

Add 2 tablespoons of Lavender syrup to the bottom of a tall glass and then fill it with ice. Pour 1 cup of espresso or coffee over the ice. Top with cream or milk of your choice. Drizzle a bit more of the lavender syrup on top and garnish with a few fresh lavender flowers.

Iced Lavender Flower and Vanilla Latte with Lavender Foam

Foam 1 cup of milk and 1-2 tablespoons of Lavender syrup together. Add a few drops of blue natural food coloring and a few red to get the right shade of lavender.

Pour 2 tablespoons of lavender syrup into the bottom of a large glass. Cover with ice and pour 1 cup of espresso over the top. Cover with lavender foam and drizzle some syrup over the top and some fresh lavender flowers for color. This drink is fabulous hot or cold so try it both ways. It's the same recipe, just leave out the ice for the hot version.
