I can't stop snacking on these tasty candied pecans!
Hi Bakers,
I bought way too many pecans for my holiday pies and decided to make candied nuts with some of them...
These sweet, crunchy maple butter pecans make an amazing snack( I ate so many I lost count!), but they’re also perfect for topping salads, gifting to friends and neighbors, or using in your holiday baking. I’ll be sharing a Rocky Road Bark recipe later this week that uses these exact maple candied pecans… so make a batch now and save a handful! Enjoy ~Carolyn
Easy Candied Pecans (Stovetop)
Ingredients
-
2 cups whole raw pecans
-
1 ½ tablespoons butter
-
1–2 pinches of salt (use 2 if you like them saltier)
-
2 tablespoons maple syrup
-
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
Instructions
-
Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium–high heat.
-
Add the pecans and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Stir for a few minutes, until the nuts warm up and become fragrant.
-
Pour in the maple syrup and add the sugar. Stir well to coat the pecans.
-
Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the syrup thickens, evaporates, and the nuts become coated in a sugary glaze.
-
As soon as the sugar coating turns thick and starts to crystallise, remove the pecans from the pan.
-
Spread and separate the nuts on a nonstick mat or parchment paper. Let them cool completely.
-
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
